Rachel Tackely from English Touring Theatre will be speaking in the morning focusing on touring theatre in the UK.

English Touring Theatre is one of England’s foremost theatre companies and England’s leading touring theatre company. They are the only touring company subsidised to produce work for larger theatres in England. You can find out more on their website www.ett.org.uk

In the afternoon we will have a joint session with Peter Gregory of Night Out and Deborah Keyser of Creu Cymru. They will be talking about their models for coordinating small scale rural touring and supporting producers respectively.

Night Out is an Arts Council of Wales scheme delivered in partnership with nearly all of Wales’ local authorities. It has been operating throughout Wales for the past 30 years and helps local organisations to bring professional performances into community buildings at subsidised prices. Their website www.nightout.org.uk provides a resource for both performers and promoters.

Creu Cymru is the development agency for theatres and arts centres in Wales. They were established in 2001 through the initiative of the sector, and exist to nurture and support a vibrant, sustainable and flourishing network of venues across Wales. Now in its seventh year, Emporium is a one day event for producers, promoters, venues, professional theatre and dance companies, offering the opportunity to network with colleagues, promote work and book shows for venues.  If you have a production to sell and want to meet with venues and promoters from Scotland and across the UK, or are looking to contact Scottish companies to programme, this is an essential event for you!

The day features scheduled face to face meetings, speakers and an Open Exchange platform giving everyone a chance to update delegates on future projects and plans.
